Acupuncture is a proven treatment for many chronic pain sufferers and now a new study shows that acupuncture may improve symptoms in people with Fibromyalgia.
A Spanish research study took a group of Fibromyalgia sufferers and compared a group that had tailored acupuncture with a group treated with a placebo.
The patients receiving the “real” acupuncture patients reported less intense pain than those taking the placebo after only 10 weeks
Pain scores were more than twice as good for the group receiving real acupuncture.
The researchers also saw through the study period that acupuncture also improved the patients physical abilities, fatigue level, and overall quality of life.
